Political Blah Blah Blah

With the primary coming up next Tuesday, our news director has had us covering a lot of political stuff recently. This morning I attended a press conference by a guy who is trying (for the 2nd or 3rd time) to win a seat in Congress. He was talking about whether or not the U.S. is ready for a bird flu pandemic.

This guy holds a press conference at least bi-weekly. He speaks on a specific issue each time, hands out a copy of his remarks before the press conference even begins, and most of the time refuses to take questions afterward. Whenever I cover these things, I feel like I'm sitting in a classroom in a Charlie Brown cartoon, with the teacher going "Wah wah wah wah, wah wah wah wah." But its been a slow month on the local news front, so we covered it.

Right now, it's raining and about 50 degrees out. Hopefully Zoe's soccer game and Max's soccer practice will be cancelled. Then we can just come home, get in our pajamas, sit on the couch, and veg out for a change.
