nprmommy's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Give Me Your Money!
BUT Tomorrow starts the Spring Fund Drive. I can hear the collective groan from NPR fans across the globe. Let me give you a sample of Fund Drive programming. "Blah blah blah send us your money...yadda yadda yadda for $80, we'll send you a mug....blah blah blah please send us your money.....yadda yadda yadda if you give us $120, we'll send you a t-shirt....blah blah blah if you give us your money, we'll shut up and go back to regular programming....yadda yadda yadda in the name of all that is decent and good in this world, PLEASE send us your money, because this is as painful for us as it is for you...." Get the picture? Don't get me wrong, NPR is awesome and totally worth supporting. But thanks to the federal government our funding is less and less every year, meaning we have to increase the number of times we go on air and beg for money and the amount of money we have to ask for. So for a week (maybe 10 days if the universe is trying to punish me), I will spend 3 hours every morning trying to think of witty and unique ways to convince listeners to part with their hard-earned money. Anybody interested in an $80 mug???? 7:40 a.m. - 2006-03-31 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Max's Pants - 2007-06-20 |
